Privacy policy

Summary

IEP Proof is a local-first iPhone app. Your documents, recordings, transcripts, and findings are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. We do not create accounts, and we do not collect your content for analytics, advertising, or training.

In App Store Connect terms, IEP Proof’s intended App Privacy answer is Data Not Collected, as long as the shipping build has no analytics, crash-reporting, or other telemetry SDKs.

Everything stays on your device

Records you add are stored only on your iPhone, encrypted at rest in the app’s vault. Nothing is uploaded to an IEP Proof server, and there is no account to create.

No tracking, no analytics

The app does not collect usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or your content. It does not contact an IEP Proof backend or a third-party AI service with your audio or text.

Optional website analytics

This policy also covers the iepproof.com website. With your consent, the website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, page views, scrolling, and outbound-link interactions. Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, device and browser information, and referring page. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google signals are disabled. Analytics does not load unless you select “Accept analytics,” and you can change that choice at any time using “Privacy choices.”

Your website choice does not change the app’s local-first architecture. IEP Proof app records, documents, recordings, transcripts, and findings are not sent to Google Analytics.

On-device intelligence

Transcription and draft findings are generated on your device using Apple’s on-device speech and Foundation Models capabilities where available. Your audio and text are not sent to IEP Proof for this processing.

Subscriptions and payment information

If you subscribe to IEP Proof Pro, Apple processes the purchase through your Apple Account. IEP Proof does not receive or store your payment-card number or bank details. Apple may provide subscription status and transaction identifiers so the app can unlock Pro and restore purchases; IEP Proof does not send those details to its own server.

Permissions

IEP Proof may ask for:

Microphone — only in Meeting Mode, after you confirm consent, to record a meeting you choose to record.
Speech recognition — to transcribe meeting audio on device.
Camera — only when you scan a document.
Photos — only for images you choose to import.
Face ID / Touch ID — optional, to unlock your private vault.
Notifications — optional local reminders you create (requested in-app; notification text avoids sensitive student details by default).

Exports you choose to share

When you export a PDF (for example a meeting record or case binder), the file is created on your device so you can share it through the system share sheet. Export is never automatic. Temporary export files are deleted after you finish sharing or close the preview.

You are in control

You can permanently delete all data from Settings. Deletion removes both the records and the encrypted files (and can destroy the vault key so residual ciphertext is unreadable).

Children’s privacy

IEP Proof is designed for parents, guardians, and self-advocating adults organizing education records. Student information you enter stays on your device under your control. We do not operate a service that collects children’s data from the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes that affect how the app handles data will be reflected in the App Store privacy answers for that version.
